Acadia Rideshare
Acadia Ride Share is made up of Acadia students, faculty and staff who are interested in ride sharing. Whether you need a ride home for break, or are willing to offer up the empty seat in your car to someone who needs a lift, Rideshare is a great way to meet new people and reduce the overall environmental impact of Acadia University. Rideshare is open to all Acadia University students, faculty and staff interested in carpooling.
Rideshare started in 2007 when sustainability coordinator Hillary Barter brought the idea up at the beginning of the year. She found first year Dewey Dunnington, who had a minor programming hobby, and he took on the project and launched it in the spring of 2008. Now, the site is nearing its first semester of use, and will undergo major renovations in winter 2009.
