Meet the Coordinators
Amy Buckland-Nicks
Office Hours: Monday 12:30-2:00, Tuesday 10:00-12:00, Sunday 1:00-3:30
Amy grew up in the small town of Antigonish, and had been brought up with an appreciation for nature and the outdoors. Her interest in biology and animals stemmed into an interest in protecting the environment, and lead her to take the Environmental Science program at Acadia. Through her first year, she was active in the Environmental Society, and for second year decided to take on the Sustainability Office. After learning about the environmental issues and the state of the planet in first year, she wanted to have a direct influence on campus sustainability. Her main role in the environmental duo is organizing information from meetings, making connections on campus, and helping to coordinate environmental events. When she is not tending to sustainability matters or school work, she can be found playing broomball late at night on Mondays, or taking random walks around the residential area of Wolfville.
Dewey Dunnington
Office Hours: Tuesday/Thursday 2:30-5:00, Sunday 3:00-4:00
Dewey became interested in environmental issues through an environmental science class during his grade 12 year. He is enrolled as a second year in Acadia’s environmental science program and has been active in the Environmental Society for his entire time at the university. His main function in the organization is to write non-sensical and random news emails, as well as keep the website updated and coordinate environmental activism on campus. In his spare time he watches disney movies and bakes things. If you want to find him, you will probably have to look in a tree.
